ASSISTANT GENERAL COUNSEL The South Dakota Board of Regents is seeking an Assistant General Counsel in Pierre. This position will provide comprehensive legal advice to system staff and institutional leadership on issues, including, but not limited to, the following areas: labor and employment law, student matters, discrimination, civil rights, Title IX, Clery Act, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), contract review, South Dakota law, Federal Law, Intellectual Property, and other higher education legal topics. Specific scope and duties are as directed by the General Counsel. Incumbent must be able to conduct legal and factual research and writing; assist with and perform assigned investigations and interviews; compile, organize, and review legal and factual documentation; participate in legal and other proceedings as directed. This position reports directly to the system office General Counsel. Salary is commensurate with Experience & Qualifications Minimum Qualifications The successful candidate will have BA/BS degree and JD from an ABA accredited law school.
